HISALES is a research and memory center dedicated to the History of Literacy, Reading, Writing and School Textbooks, linked to the Faculty of Education at the Federal University of Pelotas (UFPel). Established in 2006 as a research group and expanded to a full memory and research center in 2017, it preserves educational heritage while conducting research, teaching, and community engagement activities.
