Brest City History Museum
The Brest City History Museum was established in 1990 and opened to the public in 1998. Its exhibition occupies five rooms across two floors and is divided thematically into "The architectural appearance and historical life of the city in the 11th to first half of the 19th century", "Construction and development of the city in its new location from the mid-19th to the 1930s", and "The modern city". Highlights include an original 1563 Brest Bible, the city's oldest surviving clock from 1767 (the "Lovers' Clock") and interactive displays such as a sounding gramophone and an animated engraving of the 1657 Swedish siege of Brest.
