Art Museum of Brest

The Art Museum in Brest (a branch of the Brest Regional Museum of Local Lore) opened in May 2002 in the former Southern Barracks on the territory of the Brest Fortress Hero Memorial Complex. Across twelve halls, ten of which house the permanent exhibition, the museum presents over 500 works of painting, graphics, sculpture, decorative and applied arts, and folk crafts illustrating the development of fine arts in the Brest region from the mid-20th to the early 21st century. The collection numbers more than 2,000 works, many donated by artists themselves.
