The museum was founded on 18 June 1973 on the basis of the funds of the Military Glory Museum. There are currently two exhibitions. The hall "Nature" presents sections on the origin of the Earth, life evolution, geology, flora and fauna of the district, environmental protection, and geomorphology. The 2nd exposition hall is about "The History of the Homeland" and includes sections on archaeology, medieval history, the district's role in the Mogilyov province, ethnography, education, revolutionary movement, the Great Patriotic War, socio-economic development, the Chernobyl tragedy, and notable individuals. The museum has over 16,000 items, including collections of archaeological findings, old-printed books, photos, and art pieces.
