Kuzma Chorny Literary Museum

Timkovichi is one of the oldest settlements of the Kopylsky district, which are located 25 kilometers from Nesvizh, and have a rich history. According to a beautiful legend, the name Timkovichi comes from the name of Timka-a famous hero who once lived here, helped the poor and weak. Timkovichi was first mentioned in 1499 in a judicial charter issued by Grand Duke Alexander to Prince Semyon Mikhailovich Olelkovich. Over the years, the owners Timkovichi was Hodkovice, Sapieha, Polubinski, Radziwill. The future writer spent his childhood and youth in Timkovichi. Here he graduated from a two-class school, worked in the department of public education and taught. Kuzma Chorny grew up and was brought up among ordinary people of manual labor, for whom a piece of bread and a linen shirt alone for a year were considered great happiness. With these people he was connected with all his life and creativity. Therefore, the Belarusian people remember him and honor his memory. This is evidenced by the museum, built in 1962 by teachers and students of the Timkovichi Secondary School. At first, it was a school, and in 1993 it was given the status of a state one and a new exposition was created.
