The preserve was founded on 2 July 1993 on the basis of the city historical and cultural monuments. On 22 May 1997, it received the status of the museum-reserve. The central place of the museum belongs to the Palace and Park Ensemble that represents the history of the Radziwill family, palace architecture and the interiors of the magnate residence of the 16th — early 20th centuries. The history of the Niasvizh town self-government and trade artisan life of the 16th — 19th centuries is presented at the exposition of the Town Hall. In 2005, 'The Architectural, Residential and Cultural Complex of the Radziwill Family in Nesvizh' was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
