Canadian-French Institute of Ottawa

L'Institut canadien-français d'Ottawa (ICFO) is a French-Canadian cultural institute founded in 1852 in Bytown (now Ottawa) by Joseph-Balsora Turgeon, Ottawa's first francophone mayor. Located in the ByWard Market, the Institute promotes the moral, intellectual and physical development of its more than 700 members and supports the French language and culture in Ontario through cultural, social and fraternal activities.
