Benares Historic House

Benares Historic House is a Georgian-style estate built in 1857 with parts dating back to 1837, designated under the Ontario Heritage Act in 1977. The home was occupied by four generations of the Harris and Sayers families, and more than 95% of the artifacts on display are original to the family and home, including furniture, dishes, letters and pictures. The museum features an interpretive gallery, rotating exhibitions and themed guided tours, and was restored to reflect daily life in the World War One era.
