Buxton National Historic Site & Museum
Buxton National Historic Site & Museum preserves and interprets the history of the Elgin (Buxton) Settlement, established in 1849 as a final destination on the Underground Railroad for freedom-seekers from the United States. The museum houses historical artifacts from the settlement and provides genealogical research services for original settlers and their descendants.
