Canada's Penitentiary Museum
Canada's Penitentiary Museum in Kingston, Ontario, is an award-winning museum dedicated solely to the preservation and interpretation of the history of Canada's federal penitentiaries. Located at the birthplace of the Correctional Service of Canada, it is housed within Cedarhedge, the former residence of the wardens of Kingston Penitentiary. Exhibits cover identification badges, cloth insignia, buttons, and the broader history and operation of the federal correctional system; admission is by charitable donation.
