Chiefswood National Historic Site
Chiefswood National Historic Site is the birthplace and childhood home of renowned Mohawk and English poet E. Pauline Johnson. Set in the Carolinian forest along the banks of the Grand River near Brantford, the 1800s home features twin entrances — one facing the river to welcome Six Nations community members arriving by canoe, and one facing the road to welcome visitors arriving by carriage. The site is managed by Six Nations Tourism and offers guided tours, interactive workshops and curriculum-based educational programs.
