Local History & Archives | Hamilton Public Library

The Local History & Archives Department at Hamilton Public Library is one of Ontario's oldest public library collections, established in 1889, and serves as the primary repository for Hamilton's historical records and research materials. The department maintains an extensive collection including 2 million Hamilton Spectator photo negatives, political papers, city records, maps, scrapbooks, and genealogical resources at the Central Library.
