Mattawa River Visitor Centre | Samuel de Champlain Provincial Park

The Mattawa River Visitor Centre at Samuel de Champlain Provincial Park showcases the natural and cultural history of the park and the Mattawa River valley. Staffed by a Park Naturalist during peak season in July and August, the centre provides educational programming and interpretation services for visitors exploring this historic waterway. The Mattawa River was a vital route used by Indigenous peoples, fur traders, and explorers including Samuel de Champlain.
