Fort Normandeau Historic Site and Interpretive Centre (Waskasoo Environmental Education Society)

Historic Fort Normandeau is located at the Red Deer River Crossing, a significant transportation hub before the 1893 railway connection between Edmonton and Calgary. Originally built as a stopping house in 1884, it was fortified in 1885 during the Riel Resistance. The site interprets First Nations, Métis, and European influences on central Alberta's development, offering exhibits, environmental education programs, school programs, and rafting trips.
