The Banff Park Museum National Historic Site is the oldest natural history museum in western Canada, housing more than 5,000 vintage botanical and zoological specimens, including bears, bighorns, birds and bees. Built in 1903, it is the oldest surviving federal building in any Canadian national park and shows how natural history was understood near the end of the Victorian era.
