Britannia Shipyards, National Historic Site
Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site is a living museum on the south arm of the Fraser River that preserves an authentic community of canneries, boat yards and residences dating back to 1885. The site shares the stories of the multi-ethnic Chinese, European, First Nations and Japanese workers of the Britannia Cannery and Britannia Shipyards, designated a National Historic Site in 1991. Operated by the City of Richmond with the Britannia Shipyards Society, visitors can explore historic buildings and the working boatbuilder's shop.
