Centre de la nature du mont Saint-Hilaire
The Centre de la nature du mont Saint-Hilaire is a non-profit conservation centre that has managed Mont Saint-Hilaire — Canada's first UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, designated in 1978 — since 1972. The mountain shelters one of the last remnants of the primeval deciduous forests of the St. Lawrence Valley as well as many rare and endangered species. The Centre delivers educational programming, hosts a virtual biosphere museum, and runs projects to protect natural areas, develop forest corridors and support responsible urbanization.
