Girouxville Museum
The Musée Girouxville Museum, on main street in the Village of Girouxville, Alberta, opened in 1969 thanks to the dedication of Father Clément Desrochers OMI. The museum displays over 6,000 artefacts depicting the history of pioneers and missionaries settling the Smoky River Region, with collections spanning natural history, transportation, communications, education, photography, fur trade and hunting. Notable items include a five-legged squirrel and an autobaggan from the Northwest Territories, alongside an Auto Building of antique machinery featuring a 1954 fire truck and a 1974 Oldsmobile 98 ambulance.
