Haida Heritage and Forest Guardians
The Council of Haida Nations Forest Guardians is a local Indigenous-led NGO based in Masset, Haida Gwaii, British Columbia, working on forestry stewardship and the protection of Haida lands. The Council of the Haida Nation, established in 1974, has acted as the political voice of the Haida people, addressing land claims, sovereignty, and the cultural and ecological health of Haida Gwaii. The Forest Guardians programme reflects the Haida Nation's commitment to protecting the forests and ecosystems of their ancestral territory.
