Hardy Mountain Doukhobor Village Historic Site

Hardy Mountain Doukhobor Village Historic Site is a 16.9-acre heritage property near Grand Forks, British Columbia, preserving what remains of the historic Makortoff Doukhobor Village. The main village house, built in 1912, follows the traditional communal design brought to the Kootenay-Boundary region by the Doukhobor people. Sold by The Land Conservancy of BC to the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary in 2015, the site is protected by a heritage designation bylaw and Agricultural Land Reserve restrictions, safeguarding this important Doukhobor cultural landscape.
