Avataq Cultural Institute

Avataq Cultural Institute is a non-profit organisation founded in 1980 and dedicated to protecting and promoting the language and culture of Inuit in Nunavik (Northern Quebec). With its head office in Inukjuak and an administrative office in Montreal, Avataq leads programs in Inuktitut language, museology, archaeology, archives and art, and coordinates a Museums Department of Nunavik jointly administered with the region's northern municipalities.
