Centre de Documentation Marius-Barbeau
Founded in 1977 by Jimmy Di Genova, the Centre d'interprétation de la culture traditionnelle Marius-Barbeau (CMB) in Montreal is a non-profit organization dedicated to valuing and transmitting Quebec and Canadian popular and folkloric traditions, including those of First Nations and cultural diversity. Its archives include more than 2,500 monographs, 600 folkloric costume pieces, video and sound recordings, dance notations and photographs. The Centre delivers its mission through archive access, traveling exhibitions and traditional sash (ceinture fléchée) workshops.
