Centre historique des Soeurs de Notre-Dame du Bon-Conseil de Chicoutimi

The Centre historique des Sœurs de Notre-Dame du Bon-Conseil de Chicoutimi was dedicated to safeguarding, developing and disseminating the cultural, educational and religious heritage of the Congregation of the Sisters of Notre-Dame du Bon-Conseil, and to making known the foundress Mother Françoise Simard. The community was founded on November 4, 1894 in Chicoutimi by Bishop Michel-Thomas Labrecque and Françoise Simard, and went on to operate the Institut familial (1945) and a teacher training school (1947). The site is permanently closed.
