La Prison-des-Patriotes

La Prison-des-Patriotes, housed in the former Au-Pied-du-Courant Prison (built 1831–1840) — one of Montréal's oldest neo-classical buildings — commemorates the Patriots of the 1837–1838 Lower Canada Rebellion. The site preserves the memory of the 12 Patriots executed there and explores this pivotal episode of Quebec history.
