Cartier-Brébeuf National Historic Site

Cartier-Brébeuf National Historic Site in Quebec City commemorates the winter of 1535–36, when French explorer Jacques Cartier camped here with his crew and met the Indigenous Iroquoians of Stadacona. The site also marks the location where Jesuit missionaries, including Jean de Brébeuf, established their first mission in New France. Managed by Parks Canada, it preserves this significant chapter in the history of French exploration and Indigenous encounter in North America.
