Lachine Canal National Historic Site

The Lachine Canal National Historic Site is a Parks Canada national historic site in Montreal, Quebec. The canal stretches 14.5 km from the Old Port of Montreal to Lake Saint-Louis in Lachine, following a route originally used for fur trade portages. Today it offers a multi-use trail for walking, cycling, and in-line skating, as well as recreational boating. The canal's history reflects the industrialization of Canada and its importance to trade and transportation.
