Dorfmuseum im Strohdachhaus Kölliken
The Dorfmuseum im Strohdachhaus is set in the "Sauzmehus," an Aargau straw-roofed timber house built in 1802 whose 900 m² hipped roof is once again thatched with reeds (40 tonnes laid in 1983 and renewed in 2020). Owned by the municipality of Kölliken since 1981 and run as a museum since 1987, it portrays the daily life of a well-off 19th- and early-20th-century farming family, demonstrates traditional crafts, and tells stories from local village history through changing exhibitions and seasonal events.
