Museo Casa Rusca

Museo Casa Rusca is Locarno's civic art museum, housed in a restored 18th-century building that was inaugurated in its current role in 1987. The museum conserves and presents the art collections owned by the City of Locarno, considered the richest municipal collection in the Canton Ticino. Rather than a fixed permanent display, the museum operates through a programme of temporary exhibitions drawn from and around the civic collection, covering modern and contemporary art. The building itself, a characteristic Ticinese patrician residence in the old town of Locarno, forms an integral part of the museum experience.
