Gipsmuseum / Gipsbergwerk Schleitheim

Schleitheim, in the canton of Schaffhausen, hosts three museums: a museum of local history, geology, archaeology, crafts and the Anabaptist movement (Täuferzimmer); a Gipsmuseum dedicated to the mining and use of gypsum, with a walk-through mine; and the Juliomagus Thermenmuseum, presenting the ruins of the central thermal baths of the Roman small town Iuliomagus. Together they document the area's history from the Neolithic through Roman, medieval and Reformation periods.
