Dorfmuseum Zeihen

The Zeiher Dorfmuseum showcases the village of Zeihen's heritage of straw-plaiting (Strohflechten / "Rädli- oder Drähtliflechten"), a major cottage industry that supplied the straw-hat trade in nearby Wohlen. Galleries cover roughly 15-million-year-old fossil leaves, woods and mammal bones from the local Iberg quarry, a recreated 19th-century parlour and kitchen, agricultural and field tools, and the village's claim to "the oldest alphorns in Switzerland." Tours run by appointment.
