Ausstellung Kirche Zillis

The Church of St. Martin in Zillis, near the legendary Viamala Gorge on the San Bernardino Route, is famous for its 12th-century painted wooden ceiling \u2014 one of the oldest and most complete Romanesque picture ceilings in Europe. The municipality of Zillis-Reischen has maintained a permanent exhibition about the world-famous painted ceiling since summer 1993. Restoration of the 900-year-old paintings was successfully completed in July 2024.
