Festung Vitznau
Festung Vitznau is the only artillery fortress in canton Lucerne and was the first formerly secret Swiss artillery fortress to open as an "experience fortress" in 1998. Visitors take guided tours through long tunnels, fighting positions and supply areas, including a small underground hospital, learning the story of Switzerland's Cold War-era defence at the entrance to the Réduit.
