Atelier Segantini Maloja

The Segantini Atelier in Maloja (Atelier Segantini Maloja) is the original studio that painter Giovanni Segantini designed for himself in 1897 as a 1:10 scale model for a panoramic pavilion he planned to present at the 1900 Paris Exposition. After a restoration in 1985–86 by architect Bruno Giacometti, the rotunda was reopened as a memorial site and museum preserving the artist's legacy and deep connection to the Alpine landscape. Today the atelier, run by the Verein Segantini Maloja, presents works by Giovanni, Gottardo and Mario Segantini together with archival photographs and special exhibitions exploring light and shadow in the Engadine.
