The Monasterio Bajo (Lower Monastery) of San Juan de la Peña is the historic original monastery built into the rock face, featuring a pre-Romanesque church, a noble pantheon, and remarkable Romanesque cloister capitals. It is Aragón's first royal pantheon and a masterpiece of Romanesque art in the Pyrenees.
