Museo de Arte Sacro de Teruel
The Museo de Arte Sacro de Teruel is housed within the historic Episcopal Palace of Teruel and presents the religious art heritage of the Diocese of Teruel and Albarracín. Following a recent renovation, the museum's rooms are organised thematically by colour: red for Redemption (images of Christ), blue for the Virgin Mary and her parents, and green for Fidelity (saints and martyrs). A further room dedicated to Wisdom features a remarkable library with books dating from the sixteenth century, with a highlight painting of Santa Teresa as writer. The museum also contains a Throne Room, a private chapel, and beautifully restored modernist rooms, together recreating the atmosphere of the Episcopal Palace as it was rebuilt after the Spanish Civil War. The collection comprises works from the dioceses of Teruel and Albarracín, presented with focused lighting to enhance the quality of each piece.
