MUSEO DO CASTRO DE VILADONGA

The Museo do Castro de Viladonga is an archaeological museum in Castro de Rei, Lugo, built around one of the most important Iron Age hill forts in Galicia. Occupying the summit of a hill with sweeping views over the Terra Chá plain and surrounding mountain ranges, the site has been excavated since 1971 and reveals monumental structures and rich material culture spanning the late Iron Age and Roman period. The museum displays outstanding finds from the site and interprets life in this remarkable Galician castro.
