Museo Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo
Museo Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo (CA2M) is the contemporary art museum of the Community of Madrid, located in Móstoles. Named for the date of the Spanish popular uprising against Napoleonic occupation, the museum opened in 2008 and serves as a major platform for contemporary and recent art in the Madrid region. Its permanent collection focuses on Spanish and international art from the 1960s to the present, with particular strength in conceptual, performance-related, and politically engaged work. The exhibition programme combines presentations of the permanent collection with substantial temporary shows by established and emerging artists, complemented by an active education department, a popular university programme, and an extensive publications list. The museum also has an outdoor terrace that hosts the annual Picnic Sessions summer performance programme.
