Hanko Front Line Museum
Hangö Frontmuseum (Hankoniemen Rintamamuseo) sits on a culturally and historically significant site where the border between Finland and the Soviet Union ran during 1940-1941. Founded in 1987, the museum tells the story of the wars of 1939-1945, focusing on the Hanko peninsula's lease period and the early stages of the Continuation War. Highlights include the basic exhibition "Hanko in Foreign Hands", the new Heritage Centre (opened 2024), the Cannon Hall with ten wartime cannons, an outdoor area with bunkers and fortifications, and a marked one-kilometre War Path through the former front line.
