The Juhani Aho Museum, set in a historic parsonage at Koljonvirta in Iisalmi, commemorates Finland's first professional writer and sixteen-time Nobel Prize candidate, Juhani Aho (1861–1921). The museum sits on the Koljonvirta battlefield (Finnish War 1808–1809), and a 1.5 km outdoor history trail marks battle positions and the lives of soldiers.
