K.H.Renlundin Museum, Pedagogy

The unique Pedagogy is Kokkola’s main attraction and landmark. The impressive building was built as a schoolhouse in 1696. It is presumably the oldest secular urban wooden schoolhouse in Finland. Originally, the Pedagogy was a school for boys who received elementary education taught by priests, which was common at that time. The K.H.Renlund Museum has used the building since 1909. Here, visitors can learn about the city’s extraordinary history through compelling stories and characters.
