Äänekoski Art Museum

Get to know Mr. Toivo Parantainen and his remarkable collection of fine art at Äänekoski Art Museum! Permanent exhibition presents works of fine art from the collection of Mr. Toivo Parantainen. Parantainen (1921-1994) was a teacher and an art collector. He founded ‘art house’ at his home, an old school building in Liimattala, Konginkangas, where he exhibited not only pieces of art from his collection but he also offered artists exhibition space. ‘Art house’ became later on a foundation and the maintenance was shifted to the city of Äänekoski. The first exhibition was opened to the public in October 2005.
