Bread museum

The European Bread Museum (Ευρωπαϊκό Μουσείο Άρτου) is dedicated to the cultural and historical significance of bread, with permanent and travelling exhibitions on bread-making traditions, the role of bread in the Greek War of Independence and the recognised craft of embroidered bread from Varnavas, Attica. It is run together with the Folklore Society of Varnavas in the Municipality of Marathon. The museums offer educational programmes and are seeking permanent premises in Varnavas.
