Central Museum Building of the Polycentric Museum of Aigai
The Central Museum Building is the reference point and symbolic gateway to the archaeological site and history of Aigai - the royal metropolis of the ancient kingdom of Macedon - in Vergina, Imathia. Part of the Polycentric Museum of Aigai (which also encompasses the Royal Tombs Display of Treasures, the Nekropolis - Royal Cluster of Temenides, the Ancient Theatre, the Palace of Aigai, and the Church of Saint Demetrius Palatitsion), the Central Building presents a new, holistic and dynamic relationship between archaeological site, museum and visitor, and hosts the physical headquarters of the digital museum "Alexander the Great, from Aigai to Oikoumene."
