Archaeological Museum of Elis
The Archaeological Site and Museum of Elis present the heritage of one of the most significant cities of the ancient world, located in the Ilia region of the Peloponnese, Greece. Elis is widely regarded as the cradle of the Olympic Games, having held the sacred sanctuary of Zeus at Olympia under its tutelage. The site includes the ancient agora with its theatre and stoas, residential and commercial quarters, baths, workshops and necropolises, while the museum displays finds across three halls covering site history and prehistory, art and crafts, and daily life, public life, worship and the Olympic Games.
