Casa-Museu Magdalena e Gilberto Freyre

Casa-Museu Magdalena e Gilberto Freyre is the home where the writer Gilberto Freyre lived for more than 40 years, in the bucolic neighbourhood of Apipucos, Recife. The original 19th-century manor, refurbished in 1881, preserves the family's collected objects — Catholic sacred imagery, African pieces, Portuguese tiles, Brazilian folk art, Asian porcelain, English and Portuguese silver — alongside an extensive library and pinacoteca.
