Casa-Museu Magdalena e Gilberto Freyre

The Casa-Museu Magdalena e Gilberto Freyre preserves the residence where renowned Brazilian writer Gilberto Freyre lived for over 40 years in the Apipucos neighborhood of Recife. The 19th-century casa-grande displays an eclectic collection including Catholic religious items, African artifacts, Portuguese tiles, Brazilian folk art, Oriental porcelain, silverware, an extensive library, and art collection.
