Medalta in the Historic Clay District

Medalta in the Historic Clay District is a non-profit museum and working arts centre in Medicine Hat, Alberta, occupying a remarkable complex of historic industrial buildings that once formed the heart of Canada's ceramic industry. The museum preserves and interprets the story of Medicine Hat's clay and pottery heritage, featuring heritage collections including Hycroft China and Kiln Room Excavation artefacts, guided tours, and an active archaeology field school. Medalta is also a living arts hub offering adult pottery classes, ceramic workshops, teen and kids summer camps, and artist residencies in the historic BMO Artist Lodge. The site hosts a lively annual events calendar including the District Days summer market.
