Souris Hillcrest Community Corp. Inc.
The Souris Hillcrest Community Corp. resides in a unique large stone and brick house built on the banks of the Souris River, c1910. Its castle like design features original woodwork and stained glass windows. The museum showcases the history and culture of Souris and district and has an extensive collection of over 5, 000 moths and butterflies from around the world. The museum also features an extensive collection of agriculture artifacts and a vintage CPR caboose.
The Museum showcases local, municipal, military, school and family histories as well as a world class collection of butterflies. A separate building houses a large collection of agricultural artifacts and you can walk through one of the last cabooses in service with the Canadian Pacific Railway.
