Minnedosa District Museum & Heritage Village Corporation

Step back in time with a visit to the Minnedosa District Museum and Heritage Village. Thousands of historical artifacts are on display showcasing what life was like for our area's early settlers.

The Heritage Village includes a number of beautifully restored period building such as a country church, one-room schoolhouse, blacksmith shop, log house, farm home and more. One of the gems of the Heritage Village is the Agricultural Octagon Display Building built in 1904. It is one of only three such display buildings left in Manitoba and is the only one which still has its upper cupola intact.

Other museum attractions include a Manitoba Power Commission generating plant which today houses various museum displays, antique farm equipment, a log barn, trapper's cabin, windmill and handmade wooden water wheel.

While at the Heritage Village be sure to check out the trout pond and other nearby attractions including a swinging bridge, nature walking trails, flag walk across the dam and Minnedosa Bison Park with real, live bison!

School and group tours are welcome! We offer a number of hands-on demonstrations for students.

Three Heritage Village buildings are featured on Canada's Registry of Historic Places:  Manitoba Power Commission Building, Sprague House and  Octagon Display Building. For more information on these designations please visit  www.historicplaces.ca and type "Minnedosa" in the search bar.
