Museo Archeologico dei Brettii e degli Enotri
The Museo dei Brettii e degli Enotri in Cosenza, Calabria, traces human presence in the region from prehistory to the Risorgimento era. Its permanent collection moves chronologically through the Palaeolithic, the Iron Age Oenotrian communities (960–720 BC), the archaic period following the Greek foundation of Sybaris (720 BC), and the age of the Brettii — the Italic people who dominated Calabria from 357 to 202 BC and gave the museum its name. Further galleries cover the Roman city of Consentia, an important coin collection, and the Risorgimento. A highlight is the material from the necropolis of Torre del Mordillo, one of the most significant Oenotrian burial sites in southern Italy.
