Instituto Histórico, Arqueológico e Geográfico de Goiana – IHAGGO
The Instituto Histórico, Arqueológico e Geográfico de Goiana (IHAGGO), founded in 1870, is dedicated to preserving the history, archaeology, and geography of Goiana, Pernambuco. Its collection of approximately 12,000 pieces includes around 7,000 bibliographic items, 3,000 documentary pieces (manuscripts, photographs, newspaper clippings), and 2,000 three-dimensional objects including historical furniture, utensils, and sculptures. The institute organises events, lectures, exhibitions, and heritage education workshops.
